Investments

Managed investments operate very similar to superannuation funds in the way that investments are arranged.
A very wide choice is given as to the type of investment and often a balanced approach is used that involves shares, property, fixed interest, and cash, as well as many other subcategories of these investment types.
Many people accumulate money in these funds, which can then be used for any purpose without restriction of access or amounts.
There is also the benefit of using a regular withdrawal facility to supplement income for living expenses.
Managed funds are an efficient way to accumulate additional monies outside of super and are often preferable to investing in direct shares due to the diversified spread of investments over many professional fund managers and over many investment sectors, such as shares, property, fixed interest, etc.
These funds can be started with relatively small amounts and can be added to on a regular basis, either by monthly deductions from a savings account, or by ad hoc additions as funds become available for investment.
